background

This is nothing special, well to you anyway. I'm not a scrapbook type, or a baby book writer, or even a picture printer. I'm terrible at recording memories. This blog is my attempt at holding on to some of my life as a Christian, a wife, and a homeschooling Mom of 5. I am a country girl that lived in a big city for 14 years, and moved to the Deep South for quiet, quaint, small town living.

Why am I not posting?

Because I'm fat and lazy, that's why! (And just so you know- if Anyone calls me fat or lazy after the baby comes- I'll kick you in your neck!)  Actually, I've been pretty busy- but at home.  I'm 36 weeks and nesting.  Closets are clean, baby stuff washed, new van purchased, 4th car seat installed, I figured out how to organize 3 girls worth of clothes in one dresser, a small closet, and a hanging cubbie system.  I'm even buying some cloth diapers.  So, all in all- we are just enjoying the Spring, gearing up for little Maggie, and it doesn't really seem blog worthy.

Nothing much more to update.

New Van- whoohoooo

It was out of necessity.  I tried, and I mean really tried to think of how I could strap another carseat in my Jeep Liberty.  I still miss her, and my life is good tire cover....

But now we have a minivan.  Now don't get me wrong, it is nice- '07 Honda Odyssey, but it is still a minivan.  I know, I'm shallow.  I like the aesthetic aspect of things in life and minivans are just not pretty.  But for Now, it is just a season.  I'll just look at it as the awkward years most of us went through in middle school.

As I'm still adjusting, I have the hardest time figuring one thing out.  (As if car seat placement isn't enough to think over.)  How do I hear what my 3rd row kids are saying?  They are miles away now.  Not to mention I can't just hand them our Sunday morning donuts on our way to church, but maybe that can be solved with cutting out the donuts- eek!  Back to hearing..... is mine that bad, or do other minivan parents have trouble deciphering what the kids are saying back there?  With Livia asking questions every 2.7 seconds, it is starting to annoy us both.

This was from today.  There was more, and I cut out the parts when I finally got it, but this was what I pieced together for the misunderstood conversation.

Liv- Mom, why are those people going faster than us?
Me- What? What do you want to do with plaster?
Liv- No- everyone else is driving faster and they get to get there first.
Me- Yes- if we are carrying plaster, it will make us drive slower.
Liv- What??  What is plaster?
Me- No I won't go faster.
Liv- Grrrrrr
Me- sigh- turn up the music.....
