This is nothing special, well to you anyway. I'm not a scrapbook type, or a baby book writer, or even a picture printer. I'm terrible at recording memories. This blog is my attempt at holding on to some of my life as a Christian, a wife, and a homeschooling Mom of 5. I am a country girl that lived in a big city for 14 years, and moved to the Deep South for quiet, quaint, small town living.

Strawberry picking!

After the early service at church, we headed to Lohr's orchard to pick strawberries. It was a lovely day (last year we quit just before the rain came) and after all the hard work, we had a picnic by the pond. We brought Wawa cream cheese pretzels, cheese and pepperoni, and of course, STRAWBERRIES!

She picked for the box 30%, ate 70%

If we gave him a large margin of error, he might have picked to take home 2% and ate 98%.
Don't believe me- just look at his berry!
What is this? Someone took a picture of me?

This was the bounty before I took the kids on a tour and left Troy in the field to get another half a box! He is a good field worker. :)

Plum tuckered out!

Memorial weekend fun

Memorial weekend was filled with yard work and play. For us, any job takes twice as long because someone always has to be watching the kids. But we were able to tag team some weeding, planting, mulching around the house. The kids were happy to just play, and Troy and I were happy to get a lot of things done.

Having a "birthday party" for a lucky Momma. (They like to throw pretend parties a lot)
Liv and George decorated, LOL.

I love it when they swing on their bellies and hold hands. :)
Ooops, no one is watching the kids!

A month of Firsts

This May, Virginia has come a long way. From the excruciating impression of a wounded soldier crawling out of a battle (note the cries of agony, lol) to crawling on her hands and knees, Ginnie has let us know- NOTHING IS SAFE! She has even learned to clap, and is getting the hang of pulling her self up. She went from laying down to sitting in her crib, and from sitting to standing in her packnplay. Ready or not world, Here she comes!

Back to Normal

Sooooo, I've been seeing a Chiropractor since mid march. It has made a little improvement on the constant pain in my lower back. Maybe about 20% of an improvement. The Chiropractor doesn't think I am improving fast enough so she sent me to an orthopedic Dr. According to that Doc, I have some degenerating discs and arthiritis. Mr. Back Dr. dude approved me for facet injections. I was in extra pain until Tue. That was when I woke upfeeling better (still some pain) but I could hyper extend my back, something I could not do at all before. I have another appt for an evaluation and possible 2nd round of shots. I sure hope this works.

Fair video clips

I think these are self explanatory.

Fair Weather

The birthday party we were going to was rained out (it was farther north) and we had three kids to entertain. They were all psyched to party so our plans had to be good. In desperate measure we packed them up to go to a park, and saw the sign for the Shriners festival. It turned out to be a great day. The fair had a lot (about half) geared to the younger set so L&G had lots to do. Ginnie mostly watched and danced in her stroller. Love that girl. She was very amused to see her brother and sister go round and round on the rides. It was like mega peekaboo!

George won a squeaky shark
Livia won a little husky named Basia, of course.

George, in the steps of all 3 of this granparents.

And after some fair food, it POURED! It was a really good day.
