This is nothing special, well to you anyway. I'm not a scrapbook type, or a baby book writer, or even a picture printer. I'm terrible at recording memories. This blog is my attempt at holding on to some of my life as a Christian, a wife, and a homeschooling Mom of 5. I am a country girl that lived in a big city for 14 years, and moved to the Deep South for quiet, quaint, small town living.

We could never live in China.

How on earth do the Asians (and other rice eating people) do this every day?!  Her bowl was dumped in the beginning of dinner, but even when she uses her spoon well, rice just ends up everywhere.  Virginia loves to eat, but she just can't get all the sticky little pieces of rice by the end of the meal.  I usually try to evacuate everyone else from the dining room and let the rice dry out some before vacuuming, and while that works ok, I can't help but think there is a better way.  All Asians Speak Up!!!!  Let me in on your kids-with-rice secrets!

  1. First, we only eat sticky Asian rice...less chance of mess. The rest (and there is mess b/c we have a Ty) we just deal with b/c we like rice so much :)

  3. Whatever girlie! You're forgetting the other Harford County Asians! :) Sticky rice all the way. Then you just pick it up like playdough. Start dabbing a few pieces onto one another and keep going until you have a big ball of lint, hairy, and who knows what else. :)

  4. Since there are so many of you... :) Has anyone been successful in making sticky rice without a rice cooker? I don't have the kitchen space for one.

  6. It's not about the cooker. It's about the rice and it's gluten content.
