background

This is nothing special, well to you anyway. I'm not a scrapbook type, or a baby book writer, or even a picture printer. I'm terrible at recording memories. This blog is my attempt at holding on to some of my life as a Christian, a wife, and a homeschooling Mom of 5. I am a country girl that lived in a big city for 14 years, and moved to the Deep South for quiet, quaint, small town living.

So we lost a couple....

Our Frog Life Cycle lesson is not starting off super awesome.  Two [edit- now FOUR!] of our little guys died.  Apparently the mortality rate is very high, and even more so when they grow legs.  Well, we have  3 now.  Our seven dwarf names don't make much sense anymore.  Not like we could tell who was who anyway.

But we are still learning!

We made a Frog Life Cycle poster but copying out of a Children's Encyclopedia (thanks Carolyn!).

We are learning responsibility by trying to keep alive take care of animals.
We are learning that animals sometimes just die.
We are learning to take turns feeding the pollywogs.
We are learning to stop climbing on everything because when you put your weight on the desk it makes the shelf shake and the aquarium wobble and the poor little guys go nutso in their underwater earthquake scenario!

Well, I'm hoping we are learning most of those lessons.

  1. Homeschooling is so wonderful! You're doing a great job. I love popping over here--pretty much every day when I have those few minutes to sit down (who wants to read "the news" when I can read my friends' blogs?!?)--and catching up w/you. Let's do...something!! Miss you, too.
