This is nothing special, well to you anyway. I'm not a scrapbook type, or a baby book writer, or even a picture printer. I'm terrible at recording memories. This blog is my attempt at holding on to some of my life as a Christian, a wife, and a homeschooling Mom of 5. I am a country girl that lived in a big city for 14 years, and moved to the Deep South for quiet, quaint, small town living.

Back update

Sooooo...... the back injections didn't work. No improvement. They injected L5 and L4. I am on the books to try again but have the injections in the lower area, S1 and S2. That is to happen July 30. Until then, the Dr. gave me a back brace. I'm trying to think of some good stories to tell if people ask about it. I was thinking of telling people, "This is just a consequence of professional mud wrestling." Or, "You mean this isn't a new fashion statement? Oh, how embarassing!" Any other suggestions?

  1. Oh no! What happened? I feel compelled to give you my 2nd/3rd year medical student advice...but I don't really know the full problem :)

And, I'm sure you've figured this out, but the steroid injections are more of a "catch all" treatment rather than a pin-pointed, we know what's happening, this will work treatment. Have you been to a chiropractor (I know a good one in Hunt Valley)? Have you had x-rays taken?

I hope you feel better soon! I would try and treat you osteopathically, but that's hard to do long-distance :)

  2. Thanks for the long distance caring. :) I have been seeing a chiropractor since March and she sent me to an orthopedic Dr who looked at my MRI and said I had degenerating discs and arthritis. If the 2nd round of injections don't give me some relief they said something about a test with dye. Can't remember. I will just hold off on treatment for a while if the shots don't work. I have been living with this pain since college, but it has been getting progressively worse (I'm sure 3 kids in 4 years has NOTHING to do with that. LOL!)
